What is BattlefieldLive Laser Tag?

BattlefieldLive Laser Tag is laser tag with a hi-tech, modern twist. Featuring real-time hit feedback as well as real-time stats, BattlefieldLive is a live-action play inspired by popular video games like “Call of Duty” or “Fortnite”. We are 100% mobile. We bring the fun to you!

Who can play BattlefieldLive Laser Tag?

Everyone aged 8 and older. Boys and girls, moms and dads, even grandmas and grandpas can play!

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes! You can download it here! You should also check out our Rules.

Where can I play?

Your battlefield can be set-up almost anywhere and is only limited by your imagination. Back yard, open field, forest, or park can be transformed in minutes from a sedate setting to an action-packed battlefield. You can also play indoors as long as the space is large enough to accommodate the number of players you expect. Your Battlefield can be as small as half a basketball court to as large as a football field.

Do you include staff to run the party?

Yes! All of our events include a Mission Director who manages the entire event. Our professional staff is experienced in managing large and small groups to maximize playing time and fun. We do everything, so sit back and relax! Our professional and courteous staff runs the event from start to finish. You don’t have to lift a finger, unless of course you want to wrap one around a trigger and join in on the fun.

What can I expect to happen on the day of my party when the event is at my location?

Your Mission Director will contact you a day or two before your party to confirm final numbers. We usually arrive at the site no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Upon arrival the Mission Director and staff will finalize any necessary paperwork, process your final payment if a balance is outstanding, survey your property, set-up your battlefield, and set-out the gaming guns for the players.

Your Mission Director will organize teams, instruct players on equipment use, go over our gaming rules, conduct a safety briefing, identify the field of play/boundaries and will go through the various scenarios and games that your guests will play. At the conclusion of the event, your Mission Director will stow all of the gear and inspect the condition of the battlefield one last time before leaving. Our Mission Director and staff work extremely hard to ensure that you and your guests are 100% satisfied. Tips are greatly appreciated. Their mission is your satisfaction!

I played at a BattlefieldLive community event and you ran the event differently. Why?

Typically, at a large open event or a pay-to-play, we run a continuous, every-man-for-himself, style of play to allow as many people as possible to play.

What is a BattlefieldLive Laser Tag Gun?

A ” BattlefieldLive Laser Tag Gun”, or gaming gun as we call them, is a next generation hi-tech version of the old style plastic laser guns. BattlefieldLive gaming guns replicate the real things in size, weight, sound, performance, and even muzzle flash. When people pick up our guns for the first time they can’t help but say “WOW”! Our gaming guns feature real-time hit feedback, real-time stats, voice and sound effects, speak 11 different languages, can emulate 69 different weapons, and provide real Red-dot scopes for superior quick targeting.

What languages are the guns programmed to speak?

All of our guns are capable of speaking U.S. English (male & female), British English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, French, Dutch (German), Mandarin and Arabic.

Do BattlefieldLive gaming guns shoot lasers? Is it eye-safe?

There are NO LASERS. Our gaming guns use an invisible and harmless INFRARED beam of light, just like your TV remote control, so it’s totally eye-safe. There are no projectiles, paintballs or pellets, so there is no need for masks, vests or chest protectors. And you never have to pay for ammunition!

How do BattlefieldLive gaming guns work?

Our gaming guns are unique in that they are modeled after both real and sci-fi type weapons. In a daytime environment they have an effective range of up to 500′, at night well over 1,000′. They use realistic digitized sounds, offer multiple modes of fire, and are able to have multiple battles on the same field without cross-over. Each gaming gun has 3 sensors, one on the gun and 2 on you. They let you know when you hit another player, as well as when you’ve been hit. This is hi-tech fun with attitude!

What should players wear?

We encourage party hosts to direct their guests to wear comfortable clothing with closed toe shoes. Dress for the weather! Think gym shoes or hiking shoes. Camouflage or dark clothing is fine but not necessary. Loose fitting clothing makes running and moving around easier.

How long do the mission games last?

After an equipment orientation, we start off with one or two 10 minute rounds to let the players get familiar with the equipment. After everyone has “stretched their legs” and are comfortable with procedures we move on to a few different missions. The length of the missions will vary from 7 to 15 minutes. Several factors are considered when determining the mission time. The age of the players, the size of the field, the mission objective, the number of players that need to participate in the event and the weather conditions. No mission game ever plays the same way twice.

How do you know when you’ve been hit?

BattlefieldLive gaming guns are interactive and are also designed to eliminate cheating. If you have more than 3 hit points when you take a ‘hit’ from another player, the gaming gun will sound a zinging “near miss” sound and your “hit points” will be reduced by 1. If you have 2 or 3 hit points when you take a ‘hit’ from another player, the gaming gun will “groan” and your “hit points” will be reduced by 1. Once all of your hit points have been used, the gaming gun will sound “ARGGG”, all of your sensors will light up, the gaming gun will display ‘dead’ on the screen, and the gaming gun stops operating. Depending on the mission game, you will either need to report to Mission Headquarters until the next mission begins or, if you have additional lives available you may be re-spawned by the Mission Director or a Medic Box. Remember, survival is the key and the best way to survive is to be stealthy and to not be shot.

What size property do I need?

That really depends on the number of players you’re expecting. Most children’s birthday parties do just fine in the back yard, front yard and all around the house. For small parties of 12 players, you can safely play on a field half the size of a tennis or basketball court, for larger groups up to 24 players, a full size tennis court or basketball court is an appropriate safe space. For larger groups a soccer or football field would be appropriate. For an indoor event a gymnasium works very well.

Can I play in a public park?

If space is an issue most communities will allow you to use the public parks or school grounds. Depending on the size of your party, you may need to get permission from your parks and recreation department and you may be charged a small fee.

Can we play in the rain?

Yes you can. As a matter of fact we play in almost all weather except heavy downpours or if there is thunder and lightning in the area. Our gaming guns are weather resistant and can stand-up to most rains, which players love. Your party will go on rain or shine, so your entertainment will too!

Do the gaming guns work indoors or at night?

BattlefieldLive gaming guns are hi-tech and are made to work in bright sunlight, indoors with artificial lights, outdoors at night or in a dark indoor area. Night time gaming adds a very different element to the missions.

What are your operating hours?

With the exception of Christmas and New Years we operate any time of the day or night. We do add a surcharge for events scheduled on major holidays and holiday weekends (Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving) and for any event, or portion thereof, occurring between the hours of 10pm and 6am.

What do I need to provide when the event is at my location?

Nothing other than a place to play, everything needed to play is included in the price. We do suggest you have plenty of drinks (water is best, especially on hot days) and healthy snacks for the players afterwards.

How do you know when you’ve hit somebody?

When your shot hits another player your Red-dot scope will flash twice and your gaming gun will say “Casualty”. If the other player is on their last hit point when you shoot them your Red-dot scope will flash four times and your gaming gun will say “Kill Confirmed”. If you shoot another player that is already dead your gaming gun will say “Dead Already”.

How do you win the mission games?

Since each mission has a different objective there are several ways a winning team is determined. If a team completes their mission objective they win that mission and the game is over. Many times the winning team is determined based on the team who eliminates the most opposing players, or who has the fewest amount of respawns during a given time. The Mission Director or Referee will make the count and announce the winning team.

What happens if one of the guns are lost or damaged?

If you play according to our rules and safety standards, there should not be any damage other than normal wear and tear. The gear has been battlefield tested, is professional grade and very robust. However, if play is careless, equipment parts can break and/or be damaged. If something is broken due to intentional abuse you will be charged for what was damaged or lost, as per the terms and conditions of our agreement.
